Red roses symbolize passionate love. It is associated with fiery heat and warmth.
Red can be symbolizes as life, as of the color of the blood. It brings focus to the essence of life and living with emphasis on survival.
Red is also the color of passion and lust.
Red is the color of Mars, the planet known as the God of War.
On the negative side red can mean temper or anger, dangerous or burning.
Red is good for a dinning area. Paint it red for it boosts your appetite without you noticing it. =)
Red flag means a warning signal.
Code red means a critical situation or indicates an emergency.

Does the color red means something to us? I believe it does. Color reflects our aura. Aura means an energy that surrounds a person or a thing. Pick your color! Pick red!

I had my fair share of difficult situation. Red flag up I must say. I admit it is hard to handle but life doesn't end there. Not yet. Keep moving forward. You have to stand up and fight. Especially when you are wearing this red stiletto. such a killer!

You are what you eat

I did a research in the inet and found that this food have different benefit for our body. These will help you know what you are eating. Enjoying at the same time staying healthy and fit.

Dark Chocolate
Dark Chocolate is good for the heart. Research shows that dark chocolate can improve heart health, lower blood pressure, reduce LDL cholesterol, and increase the flow of blood to the brain. It also boosts serotonin and endorphin levels, which are associated with improved mood and greater concentration. Look for chocolate that is 60 percent cocoa or higher.

Caffeinated Coffee
A study published in the journal Physiology & Behavior found that the average metabolic rate of people who drank caffeinated coffee increased 16 percent over those who drank decaf. Caffeine stimulates your central nervous system by increasing your heart rate and breathing. Coffee is consider as a good to fire up your metabolism.

Chili Peppers
It turns out that capsaicin, the compound that gives chili peppers their mouth-searing quality, can also jumpstart your fat-burning, muscle-building engines.

Yogurt
The probiotics in yogurt may help you drop pounds. British scientists found that these active organisms boost the breakdown of fat molecules in mice, preventing the rodents from gaining weight.

Grilled Chicken Breast
The protein in lean meat like chicken, fish, or pork loin isn't just good at squashing hunger and boosting metabolism—it's also a top source of energy. People who ate higher amounts of protein had higher energy levels and didn't feel as tired as people with proportionally higher amounts of carbs in their diet.

Honey
Penn State scientists have discovered that honey is a powerful cough suppressant—so next time you¹re hacking up a lung, head for the kitchen. When parents of 105 sick children doled out honey or dextromethorphan (the active ingredient in over-the-counter cough medicines like Robitussin), the honey was better at lessening cough frequency and severity. Try a drizzle in a cup of rooibos tea.

Margarine
Not just any margarine, mind you—those containing plant sterols. In a Tufts University study, people who ate a butter substitute containing plant sterols with three meals each day saw their LDL (bad) cholesterol drop by 6 percent. How? The researchers say that plant sterols prevent cholesterol from being absorbed by the intestine. Promise Active and Smart Balance HeartRight are two great options.

Green Tea
Brazilian scientists found that participants who consumed three cups of the beverage every day for a week had fewer markers of the cell damage caused by resistance to exercise. That means that green tea can help you recover faster after an intense workout.

Sardines
According to research published in Nutrition Journal, fish oil can help increase your ability to concentrate. Credit EPA and DHA, fatty acids that bolster communication among brain cells and help regulate neurotransmitters responsible for mental focus. Salmon, trout, halibut, and tuna are also great sources of EPA and DHA.

Bananas
The antioxidants in bananas, apples, and oranges may help protect you from Alzheimer's, report Korean scientists. The researchers discovered that plant chemicals known as polyphenols helped shield brain cells from oxidative stress, a key cause of the disease.

Steak
Vitamin B12, an essential nutrient found in meat, milk, and fish, may help protect you against brain loss, say British scientists. The researchers found that older people with the highest blood levels of the vitamin were six times less likely to have brain shrinkage than those with the lowest levels.

Carrots
Researchers from Harvard found that men who consumed more beta-carotene over 18 years had significantly delayed cognitive aging. Carrots are a tremendous source of the antioxidant, as are other orange foods like butternut squash, pumpkin, and bell peppers.

My Closet confession

If you'll able to see whats in my closet you will laugh at me.
Yes! Heard me right. Laugh! laugh! Laugh!
Few pieces are in there. Just like this polo tunic top.
I have numbers of it in my closet.
This is my everyday uniform. hahahah!
But of course I have it in different colors.
Very comfy. I can wear it with a small sling bag and a flats.
I love it! No more tortured feet. No big bags.
It feels like I'm in my teen days.
No hassle at all. But all smiles and fun. ;)

I love vintage fashion

What more can I ask for. I really love vintage fashion.
Call me old fashioned, not trendy, but I am really facinated with it.
I always look for something classic.
I know the fashion industry is evolving but vintage will always be my top 1.
My most favorite of all.
I love high end fashion and Vintage is my only addition. ;)

the new street style fashion

Skimpy off white shorts, purple crumpled top, with beaded antic necklace, and a ray-ban shades is a perfect day outfit. Basic pieces and up do your hair, whaaala! A simple yet chic style for a day. ;)

black and white

Black and White will always be the safe mode in fashion style.

P.S. Try something extravagant. Like wild colors or printed ones. The unique you are the fashionable you will become. But of course if you have the right attitude and make up, you will definitely standout. Clothes are not enough. Add a little attitude and if you know how to wear it right, plus you look good at it. wheee! You are the star and eyes will always be following you. wink ;)

shorty shorts

Grunge shorts is in... even summer is already out, girls still dig to wear this skimpy shorts.
I was able to ask few people about these latest fashion in town.
They told me "Shorts are more comfortable. Stress free. Easy to style."

On a personal note: I really like wearing shorts. More comfortable than wearing jeans. But of course you have to consider where and what are your activities. My hometown is quoted as a conservative town than any other town in the Philippines. A minimal exposure of skin is a must. hehehe

Confession of a shoe addict

I love to shop!
 I shop for shoes!!!
I want it unique.
I want it extravagant yet comfortable.

By the way, this is the fabulous shoes I found in the inet.
If I have much much much much, I will splurge a little bit on shoes.
Like this Valentino shoes.
It is worth for Drolling. hehehe!

If you look at it closely, you will find how intricate it is.
But before you buy shoes, there are some things you need to consider.
1. Is it worth it? (the price)
2. Does it have a good quality?
3. Is it comfortable?
4. Will you able to use it longer?

Think before you splurge for a branded shoe.
But theres always an exemption.
I know how it feels.
It takes one to know one. =)

Hair care in natural ways

I always have hair problem. I want to have a smooth and silky hair like the shampoo models I saw on tv or like the celebrities I idolize. Then I came to cross this site in the internet and this is my third month. I hope it works well and would like to share it to you guys. enjoy!

Pre wash steps
  • Massage olive oil in circulating motion in your hair for 10 minutes be patient and do not rush over it. Leave it for 30 -40 minutes before you wash hair.
  • You can substitute olive oil with coconut oil.
How to wash your hair?
  • Wash your hair when ever you feel need of.
  • Do not wash your hair with hot water. Always use lukewarm water.
  • Use mild and herbal shampoo and conditioner without any harsh detergent like the sulfates for your hair. If you have oily hair apply conditioner only at the ends otherwise conditioner would leave your hair greasy.
  • After washing your hair wrap towel dipped in hot water around your hair. You would see amazing results.

How to dry your hair?
  • Shake your hair until dry. It will help blood circulation in the scalp. Make use of your fingers to massage the scalp. Your scalp would only be damaged if your massage the scalp with nails.
  • Use wide toothed comb. Divide you hair in sections and gently comb the hair starting from the ends.
  • Avoid using blow dryer, styling if you are washing your hair everyday. If you are using blow dryer use it down wards and apply leave in conditioner before blow drying hair. It would protect your hair to get damaged from the heat.
Regular hair care
  • Get your hair trimmed regularly. If you have short hair get your hair trimmed every month. If you have long hair get them trimmed after 6-8 weeks.
  • Gently tie your hair while sleeping. Even better make a braid. Always comb your hair before sleeping.
Grey hair
  • To prevent grey hair massage hair regularly with coconut oil or brahmai oil.
  • Soak dried Amla(Emblic myrobalan) pieces or powder overnight in an black iron vessel. In the morning sieve it and put the liquid on your hair using brush. Leave it for an hour and simply wash off. Use gloves to protect your hands from the natural color of amla. Wrap a towel around your head in order to avoid dripping. Use an old towel because the liquid would leave some black stains on it.
Natural Dye to hair
  • Natural way to dye hair is to use henna. Henna is also good for conditioning. Mix henna with egg and leave it over night in an black iron vessel. Apply this paste in the morning on clean hair and leave it for half an hour for natural conditioning. If you want your hair to get colored mix coffee powder and methi (Fenugreek) powder in the paste. Do not shampoo your hair the same day if you want deep color on hair, just rinse thoroughly.
Conditioning with home made packs
  • Make a paste using eggs and curd together and apply it on clean hair. Let it dry. Do not wash hair with hot water.
  • Apply coconut milk on your scalp. It feels cool and relaxing and regular use would make your hair silky and also improves hair growth.
  • Massage your hair with milk. Let it dry. Wash it off with mild shampoo.
  • Once in 15 days rinse your with lemon juice mixed with water and honey as a final rinse after shampooing your hair
Hair Loss
  • Regular massage with castor oil as a hair oil helps the luxuriant growth of the hair.
  • Rubbing lemon juice into the scalp also strengthens the hair roots and helps preventing dandruff. Rub lemon juice into scalp leave it on for 15 minutes and wash it off.

Those are some of the tips to get healthy and beautiful hair. Follow your routine regularly to get good results. If you are thinking to change to a new hair product. Stick with it for some time to see the results. It is always better to make use of herbal product since they do not damage or harm your hair.

Sugar acts as wonderful body scrub and helps in your regular exfoliation process. Take a few cups of sugar and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. As sugar doesn’t melt in oil, the grains of sugar help you to exfoliate dead cells present. Add a few drops of essential oil for an aromatic essence.

7. Tea
Tea is the best prevention for all kinds of diseases. It help fight against mutagenic agents, delay aging, help fight high blood pressure, help fight against viral and bacterial infection, and help improve the functions of the digestive and excretory systems. If it can cleans the tummy why not your skin. Just soak the tea bag in a basin with water. Then use it to wash your body.

8. Milk
Milk give calcium in the body. calcium needed for muscle contraction, but calcium lends to our bone structure, bone recovery (re-calcification), and bone health as well. Drink milk but not much that your body can no longer handle. A glass or 2 glasses a day is enough.
Have you heard the Milk Bath? I am pretty sure you did. So try to have a milk bath, this will make your skin younger and beautiful. One more thing, before going to sleep, apply a little amount of milk on your face. (Best if you leave it overnight.) This will minimize or prevent the fine lines on your face.

Color of your skin

The color of your skin is determined by the melanin or pigment in the skin, be it yellow, dark brown or black. Melanin is responsible for imparting color to your skin, hair and iris of the eyes. Levels of melanin depend on race and amount of sunlight exposure. Melanin production increases with exposure to the skin so as to protect the skin against harmful ultraviolet rays.

A number of women have
skin pigmentation problems relating to hormone changes and sun exposure. Read more on skin pigmentation disorders, be it hyper pigmentation or loss of skin pigmentation.

Skin Pigmentation disorder

Skin pigmentation disorders occur as a result of the body producing either too much or too little melanin. Skin pigmentation creates a darker or lighter skin tone that may be blotchy and uneven. Causes of skin pigmentation can range from auto immune conditions to drug reactions or genetic inheritance. Sun damage is probably the leading cause of skin pigmentation problems. Other factors include drug reactions, hormonal changes, genetic factors and medications.

Hormonal therapy, childbirth or birth control pills can cause skin pigmentation changes. Many people suffer from skin pigmentation problems as a result of locally increased skin pigment production. They appear as age spots, moles, liver spots or hyper pigmentation after local skin damage. Freckles are another variation in pigmentation of the skin. They are caused but by uneven release of the pigment.

Hypo pigmentation or loss of skin pigmentation is a condition where the body does not produce sufficient melanin. Sometimes after an ulcer, blister, burn, or infection heals, the skin loses some of its pigment in that area.

Albinism: This leads to a situation of albinism wherein the person has light skin, white or pale yellow hair and gray eyes. Albinism is usually the result of an inherited recessive trait. There is no cure for albinism, and individuals should use a sunscreen at all times because they are much more likely to get sun damage and skin cancer.

Vitiligo: Vitiligo is another form of hypo pigmentation caused by the loss of pigment-producing cells in the skin (melanocytes). These white patches are very sensitive to the sun. This skin pigmentation disorder affects nearly 2% of the population and is more evident in those with darker skin. Some scientists believe vitiligo may be caused by an autoimmune disorder. It is also linked to hyperthyroidism and Addison's Disease that affects the adrenal glands.

Treatment for vitiligo involves use of light-sensitive drugs in combination with ultraviolet A treatment. Physicians may prescribe a combination of photosensitive medications like trimethylpsoralen and ultraviolet light therapy to darken the spots affected by vitiligo. Skin grafting and cosmetic concealers can also be resorted to.

Hyper Pigmentation is a condition where the body produces too much melanin thereby causing to become darker than usual. Hyper pigmentation can occur due to excessive sun bathing or drug reactions. Many a time wounds and scars leave a darker patch of skin. Birthmarks, moles, and aging spots are also indications of hyper pigmentation. It is important to keep on the alert for any change in size, color or texture for indications of skin cancer.

Lichen Simplex Chronicus: This skin pigmentation disorder is characterized by dark patches of skin accompanied with severe itching. This can lead to permanent scarring and infection if untreated.

Melasma: This hyper pigmentation condition is a fallout of pregnancy hormones. A dark mask appears over the cheeks, bridge of the nose and the neck. This dark mask usually disappears after the birth of the child. This skin pigmentation condition is also known as chloasma and can be treated with prescription creams and over-the-counter products.

Birthmarks: This type of skin pigmentation appears at birth or in the few weeks following birth. These birthmarks do not generally pose any health risks.

Port-wine Stains: These skin pigmentation spots are caused by abnormal development of capillaries and appear as a red or purple mark on the body.

Skin Pigmentation Remedy

A dermatologist will help in identifying the skin pigmentation condition with a visual examination and simple tests. Most often skin pigmentation affects only the outward appearance and is not indicative of any underlying health risks. Sometimes a biopsy is done of the affected area to rule out any cancerous growth. Most often people affected by skin pigmentation disorders use sunscreen and avoid excessive sun exposure. Skin-lightening creams are available for hyper pigmentation disorders.

Hydroquinone is widely used to block formation of new melanin. Retin-A is also prescribed to counter the effects of hyper pigmentation. Topical steroid creams can help alleviate itching associated with some form of skin pigmentation. Cosmetic procedures like glycolic acid peels help in improving the effectiveness of the bleaching agents. Skillfully applied makeup can help in covering affected areas of the skin. Hypoallergenic cosmetics can be used to cover uneven and blotchy skin.
