After nearly a whopping 72 million votes were cast, James Durbin bit the dust on "American Idol." The glam rocker fell just short of making the Top 3.Tears trickling down his cheeks, James said, "In my eyes, in my mind, …I did what I came here to do and that was to give metal a chance. Just bring it 110-percent every week."
Unfortunately for James, his gut "feeling" today was accurate that he'd be eliminated. The final three contestants, Lauren Alaina, Haley Reinhart, and Scotty McCreery, will be jetting off for their hometown visits before performing again next Wednesday on "American Idol" on Fox.
