Foundation

Foundation is often considered to be one of, if not the most, important part of the whole makeup process. It is critical to choose the foundation that best suits your individual needs and to know the correct application techniques. Read below about how to make your foundation look its very best.

Choosing a Foundation
Most people do not know what their skin tone is so they end up buying the wrong type of foundation. It is always a good rule to simply test the foundation right there in the store. Preferably, wear no foundation to the store so you can just apply a tiny dap of foundation right on your face to test whether or not it is a match. If you must wear foundation to the store, dab a little bit on the inner part of your arm. That should be a pretty good match. Always try to pick a foundation that is a shade lighter than your actual skin tone. Foundation always looks different when it is fully applied and it will allow for your skin to really shine through!

Applying Foundation
Before you even start applying foundation make sure that your skin is freshly washes and that you have applied plenty of moisturizer to prevent dryness. Always completely blend your foundation. If there is even one small area that is not fully blended, it will be noticeable in the sunlight. Especially make sure to blend thoroughly around the jaw line, this is wear the most lines will appear. Most of the time it is not necessary to apply foundation to the entire face. Applying foundation to only the problem area, like blemishes and under the eyes, can be just as effective and will always look more natural and light.

Foundation Basics
The sole purpose that most people apply foundation is to make their skin look brighter, cover up blemishes, darkness or redness, or to minimize the look of fine lines and wrinkles. If the right foundation is used, all of these skin conditions can be helped by foundation. Remember, foundation is used to allow your true beauty to shine through, so don’t use to much mascara and always use the right shade. Shine on, girl!
