The Belfast Telegraph reports that Henry Cavill, the actor cast to play Clark Kent in the new movie 'Superman: Man of Steel,' became engaged to Ellen Whitaker on a recent trip to Hollywood.
"I couldn't believe it when he asked me to marry him," said Ellen, a British show-jumping rider who is training to join England's Olympic team. "I thought we were there to celebrate his birthday. It was such a surprise and I am so happy."
Henry, who turns 28 tomorrow, May 5, has previously been seen in the Showtime drama "The Tudors." 'Man of Steel' is expected to be released next year.
