"Harajuku Mini" will range in price from $3.99 to $29.99 -- a far cry from her upscale L.A.M.B. line, where a typical shoe runs over $300. Target also seems to be a smart choice for Gwen's first foray into designing for kids, as the mass retailer has found a lot of success, as well as actual fashion respect, with their limited-edition fashion collaborations. Target's GO International fashion line has found them collaborating with the likes of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler, Zac Posen and Anna Sui amongst other big-name designers -- fashion royalty and celeb favorites respected for their runway designs that average Target shoppers would definitely not be able to afford otherwise.
"Harajuku Mini is a dream come true," Gwen tells WWD of the upcoming line. "I've always wanted to do a cool children's fashion line inspired by the supercute and playful kid's clothing you find in Japan. Target has given me the creative freedom to design kid's clothing that is different than most anything you usually see out there with great quality, attention to detail and most of all, available at amazing prices."
