KATE MIDDLETON'S WEDDING DRESS IS IN BUCKINGHAM PALACE

Starting this Saturday, you can now get a look at the wedding dress seen around the world in person.

Buckingham Palace is hosting an exhibit with some of the most cherished mementos from Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding day, the most notable item being Kate's stunning Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding dress which solidified Kate as a global style icon.

More than half a million people are expected to travel to Buckingham Palace to see Kate's wedding dress in person, which was originally viewed by nearly three billion. So special is the occasion that the Duchess of Cambridge and the Queen had a private viewing of the spectacular dress today, before it goes on display tomorrow.

The dress stands on a three-foot high circular platform, and surprisingly there are no rails or ropes to keep out the public -- though there will of course be plenty of security. Reportedly, it was Kate's decision herself to give the public a chance to see the remarkable detail put into the already endlessly-copied dress, which is said to be inspired by the late Grace Kelly's wedding dress when she married Prince Rainier III of Monaco.

Also on display? Kate's vintage Cartier 1936 tiara (her "something borrowed" from the Queen), her lace wedding shoes and the diamond earrings she wore on her special day, which will be featured in a glass case.
