Biggest Loser Hopeful needs to lose weight to give mommy kidney

ET was on the scene in NYC as hopefuls attended a casting call for NBC's "The Biggest Loser," and one had a particularly compelling reason to lose weight -- in order to save her mother's life!
Ketsha Thompson, 33, explained that she needs to trim down in order to be able to donate her kidney to her mother: "If I'm able to make weight, I'm a perfect match and she will live."
"I want to be on 'The Biggest Loser' because I want to start liking myself again," another contestant hopeful, Paul Romanelli, 45, told ET as he waited outside in the cold for a chance to be a contestant on the hit reality competition.

Casting Director Rita Koutsoulis told ET, "It's always so heartbreaking because every single person has a different reason why they got to this place, but the most important thing is they're here 'cause they want to get healthy, they want to change their lives, and that's what we're looking for."
One person who knows about that very well is former contestant Mark Pinhasovich, who won the at-home prize in his season, and shared, "It was an absolute blessing being on the show. ... I have a new zest for life."
The next episode of the current season of "The Biggest Loser" airs Tuesday night on NBC.
