Sara Ramirez and Jessica Capshaw are getting married. Well at least their characters, Dr. Callie Torres and Dr. Arizona Robbins on ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" are. Of course, this being "Grey's" it's never exactly as straightforward as that. ET stopped by the set to check out the nuptials and check in with the stars to see just what's going on.
Sara puts it best, "Callie finds herself falling in love with a woman, they broke up, then found herself pregnant with her best friends child." That best friend, Dr. Mark Sloan (Eric Dane), happens to also be the man walking her down the isle. What is Arizona supposed to make of this? As Jessica explains, "you are going to kind of see how our relationship changes in this next two episodes so I think it's OK we're at the place that we are at."
"Grey's" has never been a show to shy away from controversy, yet this wedding is very much controversy free. Jessica put it simply, "When it turned out that my character was gay, I just wanted to keep playing the character the same way...I think it's a greater story to tell, which is that you can't judge a book by it's cover." And Sara feels that, "at the end of the day you know love is the only thing that is real for Callie, so here we are."
Be sure to check out "Grey's Anatomy" when it airs this Thursday on ABC.
