Miranda Lambert Talks About Engagement, Calls Fiance Her 'Comic Relief'

ET
ET sits down with country star Miranda Lambert before her upcoming Grammy performance and gets her thoughts on her own nominations and country life with her fiancé.
Her hit song "The House That Built Me" is nominated for Song of the Year and the 27-year-old is up for nominations in three other categories. "It's a lot to take in - so many blessings, you know, I'm just trying to keep my feet on the ground right now," Lambert says.
Lambert admits she's both nervous and excited about performing "The House That Built Me" at the Grammys. She says when she recorded the song -- which she calls "full of emotion" -- she had a picture of the house she grew up in on the music stand in front of her: "'[The] House That Built Me' is a special song. The first time I heard it, it hit me so hard. I just felt this real connection to it."

Lambert has been with her fiancé, country singer Blake Shelton, about six years and she says the two share many common interests including fishing and other outdoor activities. "He's my rock. He's somebody who always helps me stay focused. He's definitely comic relief in a lot of situations too, he has a great sense of humor," she tells ET.
Lambert says while she lives a very normal life at home on the farm in Oklahoma, she also enjoys the glamor of being a music star: "People have sort of penned us the new Country power couple. And that's really great, I mean it's cool to live your dream and live it with somebody that's living their dream and you get to do it together."
