ROYAL WEDDING: PREPARATION OF PRINCE WILLIAM


Revealed: Prince William and Harry to Wear Military Attire at Royal Wedding
The details of Kate Middleton's Wedding dress are still completely under wraps, however we've got the next best thing! The wedding attire of Prince William and best man brother Harry has just been released, and we have all the details.
In keeping with William and Harry's military affiliation, the Princes have chosen to wear custom uniforms on the big day, which will reflect each of the brother's respective rank and position.
Prince William, who is commissioned in all three Armed Services, has chosen to wear the Mounted Officer's uniform in Guard of Honor Order of the Colonel of the Irish Guards. Of the three, it is the most senior of his appointments in the Royal Army. Tailored by Kashket and Partners, the tunic will be in Guards' Red with a gold and crimson sash, and gold sword slings, both of which are worn in the presence of a Member of the Royal Family. He will wear the Garter Sash with the Wings of the Royal Air Force, the Garter Star and the Golden Jubilee Medal. The tunic will feature the Irish Guards' distinctive arrangement of buttons in groups of four displaying the Harp of Ireland atop of the Crown Imperial. He will also wear a Forage Cap with the Insignia of the Irish Guards exhibiting the Regiment’s motto 'Quis Separabit?' ('Who shall separate us?').
Best man Prince Harry will wear a Blues and Royals officer's uniform in Dismounted Review Order, with aiguillettes (braided cord), a cross-belt and gold waist belt. The Wings of the Army Air Corps, Golden Jubilee and Afghanistan Campaign medals will adorn the uniform, and on his head, he will wear a Forage Cap which carries the badge of the Blues and Royals, featuring insignia of the Most Noble Order of the Garter with The Queen’s cipher .
Although both sets of uniforms have holders for swords, however neither William or Harry will carry them.
