BRAT PITT PROPOSAL MADE ANGELINA JOLIE IN TEARS

Angelina Jolie cried when Brad Pitt proposed to her.

The 'Moneyball' actor spent a year designing the perfect engagement ring for his partner and when he gathered the rest of their family - children Maddox, 10, Pax, eight, Zahara, seven, Shiloh, five, and three-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox - to present it, she was overwhelmed by the gesture.

A source told Us Weekly magazine: ''Angelina cried and smiled.''

The ring was made with jeweller Robert Procop and the tablet-shaped diamond engagement piece is estimated to be worth $500,000.

The children were also overjoyed with Brad's proposal, after seven years together, with the source adding: ''Everyone hugged once she put the ring on. She went around and showed it to each of the kids. Angie considers herself bonded to Brad for life.''

Brad, 48, has previously said the couple were being put under pressure to marry by their children.

He said in May last year: ''The kids ask about marriage. It's meaning more and more to them. So it's something we've got to look at.''

It is believed Brad's proposal was made at christmas time, but he and Angelina, 36, have kept it quiet until now so the news would not overshadow her promoting directorial debut film 'In the Land of Blood and Honey'.

A source said: ''She was very busy with the movie and her Oscar campaign. She also worried that the engagement would take over press on her film and detract from that.''

No date or location for the wedding have been revealed.

It’s been a long time coming.

Brad Pitt’s much-anticipated proposal to his partner of seven years, Angelina Jolie, finally hit the media circuit late last week to cheers and jeers in the gossip community.

But one person’s reaction was far more emotional.

According to a pal of the couple, Angelina Jolie shed a few tears of happiness when her man popped the question.

“Angelina cried and smiled,” the source told Us Weekly.

Pitt reportedly rounded up the couple’s six children — Maddox, 10; Pax, 8; Zahara, 7; Shiloh, 5; and twins Vivienne and Knox, 3 — and presented Jolie, 36, with the bauble, which he spent nearly one year designing with jeweler Robert Procop.

The source said the children, who have reportedly been after their parents to finally tie the knot, were extremely happy as well.

“Everyone hugged once she put [the ring] on,” the source told the magazine. “She went around and showed it to each of the kids.”

Jolie first debuted her diamond stunner during a private viewing trip to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art last last Wednesday, quietly flashing the bling as she made her rounds throughout the museum’s vast showrooms.

Jolie and Pitt, 48, have been together since 2005, shortly after co-starring in the action-thriller “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” amid controversy that they were seeing each other while Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston.

Now, however, it’s Pitt who has a hold on Jolie’s heart.

“Angie considers herself bonded to Brad for life,” the source said.
